So, while it is still available on Amazon for $14.95 (and is eligible for free super-saver shipping), for a limited time you can buy a copy directly from me for just $10 (w/free shipping!) In fact, if you'd like a signed copy, just let me know... I'd be happy to sign it before sending it off (at no additional charge, of course). Details on all this can be found @ twosnowflakes.net
In the meantime, though, I am giving away one last copy of my book! And, it also now contains a free preview of my upcoming book, "Two Princesses!"
Now, for those of you who might have missed last TwinTuesday, I have switched things up just a bit in terms of how I run the TwinTuesday Giveaways. They are now a bit more like the traditional blog giveaway. So, here's how to enter... (you only have to do one of these things to be entered, but feel free to do as many as you like, for additional entries):
1) Follow me on Twitter @TwinHappyJen and tweet the following:
This #TwinTuesday, @TwinHappyJen is giving away a free copy of "Two Snowflakes!" (http://twosnowflakes.net) Details @ http://bit.ly/twintweet
|
2) Become a fan of TwinHappy on Facebook & post the following to your profile:
This TwinTuesday, @TwinHappy is giving away a free copy of "Two Snowflakes!" (http://twosnowflakes.net) Details @ http://twinhappytwitter.blogspot.com
Then just post a comment here letting me know what you did! :-)
(Hopefully, Facebook will eventually let @mentions show up on page walls, so that I can get rid of that last requirement :-p)
|
3) Blog about TwinTuesday, with a link to this page... post a link to your blog in the comments below.
|
Again, feel free to do as many of these things as you'd like... each will count as another entry into the giveaway! In fact, feel free tweet and/or post up to once a day, in the days leading up to TwinTuesday, as well... they'll count, too! :-)
Now, here's the Question of the Week:
What do you do, besides taking care of twins? :-)
While I tend to focus on twin parenting on my site/blog here, I think it's good to remember, every once in awhile, that we are more than JUST parents to twins :-) So, I thought it would be fun to share what else everyone does, when not lost in bottles and diapers, or sippy cups and the piles of toys left laying in the path of your twinadoes :-p

As for me, I've spent pretty much my entire adult life on the internet :-p When I graduated high school, I really had no idea what I wanted to do. I ended up attending Peabody Prepatory here in Baltimore to study piano, because that was what my Dad wanted me to do :-) But, while I did enjoy playing piano (and still do... my Dad actually recently gave me a really awesome, ridiculously expensive, keyboard that I'm still trying to figure out... he's nothing, if not persistent :-p)... but, when it turned into something I HAD to do, I didn't want to do it anymore. So, I only went for 3 semesters until finally dropping out... I just felt like I was wasting both my and my teacher's time.
So, I kind of wandered from one crap job to another... first starting out in things like fast food and waitressing (OK, so I was only a waitress for 3 weeks at Friendly's... I have great respect for wait staff, because I was a horrible waitress :-p)... then I started doing a lot of low-level office work. Worked for some lawyers in downtown Baltimore for awhile... that was interesting :-p And, then my last job was as a receptionist for a pension plan administrator in Towson, MD...
The most exciting part of that job was when I got a call from some gruff individual who simply said, "David -----, please." Well, as I had been instructed to do, I politely said, "May I ask who's calling?" And, he replied, even more gruffly, "Just put David on the phone!" Well, as I later found out, that was Johnny Unitas :-p God rest his soul, and I don't want to offend anyone who might still love him, but my one encounter with him left me thinking, "What a dick!" :-p
ANYWAY, I left that job in the summer of 1996, when I was just 21 years old. That was my last "REAL" job :-p Ever since, I've made my living on the web, working on websites and this, that or the other :-p Money on the web was a lot easier to come by back then... and, things really dropped off when the girls were born and I got lost in the Mommy Hood. But, now that they're getting older, starting school and all, I'm trying to get back into things... trying hard to re-invent myself here :-)
OK, that response totally would not have fit onto Twitter :-p So, while you can feel free to answer there (using the #TwinTuesday hashtag, of course), do remember that you can also answer on TwinHappy's Facebook page, or even by simply responding to this post! So, what do you do? Or at least, what did you used to do before having twins? :-p
