I follow Loveable Labels on Twitter busybbee05(at)yahoo(dot)com(dot)au I hope this is open to international entries as I would love to give these to our friends with twins.
This is something which I was worried about when the girls started nursery school, aged three. I was worried that they would stick together like glue and not make friends with the other kids.
I opted to have them both in the same group, and there was actually another set of twin girls in their group. (This must have been a little strange for the teacher and the other kids in the group!)
Well, my fears were unfounded, as my girls very quickly made lots of friends. Yes, they still liked to play with each other (more often than not at the painting corner or drawing tables!) but they soon began to mention a lot of new friends’ names when they came home.
In their second year at nursery, the girls were put in different groups (with my agreement!). I broke the news to the girls gently, during the summer holidays, and initially it did not go down well. However, after an awkward start, the girls thrived in their separate groups and made even more friends!
The girls are now in Primary One and in the same class. They are happy sociable little girls with lots of friends.
Now, when we have their friends over or when the girls are out at a swing park, soft play or birthday party, they often go off in different directions with different groups of friends.
I don’t know whether the fact that my girls are non identical (fraternal) twins, makes them less likely to be too ‘wrapped up’ in each other.
My grand-twins really vary, I think because their big brother is only 1.5 yrs older than them, he's almost like another twin (triplet :) ). They're used to playing with him and play with others a lot in classes, though it can vary on any given day :)
Tuesday, August 25, 2009 Again, there was no actual giveaway PLANNED for this #TwinTuesday, but we ended up doing an impromptu one, anyway :-p @babyslanguage gave away this pair of onesies to @KariewithaK!
Tuesday, August 18, 2009 There was no actual giveaway this #TwinTuesday since we were deep into celebrating Twinstock! :-p
Tuesday, May 19, 2009 This was the first #TwinTuesday! Since it was a spur of the moment idea, I didn't have a giveaway lined-up... but it was enough fun that I decided to make it a weekly thing! :-)
